The Foot Shake

The foot shake dance is a new dance that has either hit or will hit your playground in the near future, see the TES article below:

https://www.tes.com/…/has-foot-shake-dance-challenge-hit-yo…

However, dances like these are a great way to teach coding and algorithms. Algorithms are a set of instructions, just like the instructions for a dance. By challenging the children to write their algorithm for the dance, they are effectively writing code.

In the afternoon, we moved onto using the Dance Party website by code.org. It’s an amazing site, you can find it below:

https://studio.code.org/s/dance/stage/1/puzzle/1

Why not try this dance or any other dance to help your children to understand and play with algorithms (while getting active too!)?
