Catherine Giles

Cathy Giles has over 30 years of experience in education, as a primary grade teacher and an elementary school principal prior to joining CREST Collaborative in 2017, first as Assistant Executive Director and now as Director of SEL. Cathy earned a BA in ECE from Boston College, a MEd in Special Education from Salem State University and is pursuing a Doctorate in Education Administration. She is a National Board Certified Educator and Principal and holds MA DESE licensure in Super/Assist. and SPED Administrator. She co-authored "Making the Most of Your Student Teaching: A Guidebook for Aspiring Educators." She was also nominated for MA Teacher of the Year. Cathy strongly believes in the importance of “EQ Before IQ,” emphasizing that for students to achieve their personal best—socially, emotionally, and academically—they must first feel valued, respected and have a strong sense of belonging.
