Bonfire Night Safety Tips For Children

Bonfire Night is an annual celebration that falls on November 5th and was inspired by a historical event when Guy Fawkes attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament.

Bonfire Night is a fun occasion, especially for children, however, it does come with some risks and dangers caused by fireworks and sparklers.

Firework displays can be appealing to children as they enjoy the bright lights and colours, so it’s important that teachers raise awareness, in the classroom, of the dangers that come with Bonfire Night.

Research by the Child Accident Prevention Trust and Fireman Sam brand found that a quarter of parents have never discussed Bonfire Night safety with children under the age of 8, despite 81% saying that teaching children about fire safety is a priority.

From dressing appropriately to techniques such as stop, drop and roll, check out recruitment agency, Spencer Clarke Group’s, Bonfire Night safety tips for children.
