Preparing Children for the Return To Their New Secondary School During Lock Down is an Opportunity not a Insurmountable Challenge
As previously discussed by Sue Atkins, this Lockdown doesn’t have to be a negative. It can be a chance to really understand what makes your children tick and how best they learn.
This is still true but, we need to keep in mind when they return to school (whenever that may be). This last term in Year 6 was supposed to be a transition time to get ready for Year 7 but what if they never get that? Sue and Jo FitzGerald have numerous resources to help you support your children with this difficult step. Read the whole blog here.
Sue and Jo also have a FREE workbook to help:
Jo FitzGerald is an ex Deputy-Head teacher, and now runs ‘Aiding Mental Health’ – providing MHFA England adult and youth mental health courses. She has teamed up with Disney Junior UK and ITV parenting expert Sue Atkins, to provide a FREE Activity Book for children (aged 9+). This fun workbook helps children to process all of the very many changes around Covid-19, talk about any worries, and adopt a positive mindset to help them cope and thrive – NOW and in the future.

There is also a Parent Booklet, containing tips and advice for parents to support their child’s wellbeing in these unsettled and unfamiliar times.
These resources are available to download FREE at www.primary2secondary.co.uk.
Teachers and parents can download and take a look.
