This was my favourite lesson of the year so far! We had a lesson where we were tinkering to our heart’s content.
Tinkering is where you take things apart and look at how things work. Part of the computing curriculum is about looking at the inner workings of a PC and I thought we could have a hands-on lesson and physically take a PC apart and discover what’s inside. It’s also a fantastic STEAM lesson; the learning that goes on is almost palpable. Learning through play is the best way, no matter what age you are.
I got the PC towers by asking on one of those waste saver groups on Facebook and Louise Dawson, from Trewwan Sands Children’s Trust, donated 8 PC towers to school (thank you Louise😊).
