One lucky school in Liverpool has won a free playground worth £10,000 courtesy of the UK’s leading playground company, Playforce.
In September Playforce launched its biggest competition to date – a chance for schools and nurseries in England and Wales to win a playground valued at £10,000. A further two runners-up will also receive prizes for their school or nursery, with a choice of either a Play Cabin (RRP £871) or Imagination Bridge (RRP £860).
To enter the competition schools and nurseries have been invited to share what a new outdoor space would mean to them, in either a video or a picture.
Idverde National Services Director, Oscar Sorabjee, chose the winners from a selected shortlist. He said:
“We had so many great pictures and videos entries from schools and nurseries from across England and Wales. It just went to show how important outdoor space – and having fun in it – is to everyone. It was really hard to choose our winners but the wait is over! We’re delighted to have, not only a winner of the £10,000 playground but two runners up, each winning their choice of either a Play Cabin or an Imagination Bridge.”
He continued:
“We’re passionate about getting children outdoors, active, learning and playing. But we understand that the pandemic has taken its toll – not least on funding and available resources for outdoor education. When we spoke to teachers in our recent focus groups they told us that, since everyone has returned to school, outdoor play and learning has become more important than ever. So, fueled with this insight we decided to do something about it and help schools get children playing and learning outdoors again. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing all of the hard work that had gone into the competition entries and look forward to seeing Anfield Road Primary School’s new playground come to life!”
