How to manage your time effectively on the run up to Christmas

The weeks leading up to Christmas are always busy for teachers, filled with festive events, extra tasks and the ever-growing pressure of home and school life. It’s no wonder so many of us feel overwhelmed.

In this month’s blog, Gemma tackles the age-old question: how can teachers manage their time effectively over the Christmas period and still enjoy it? She reframes time management as a matter of attention, not control, encouraging educators to reflect on what they are not willing to say no to and to protect those priorities in their diaries.

Gemma also shares practical strategies to make the most of the remaining time, from breaking work into manageable chunks using the Pomodoro Technique, to body doubling for focus, and scheduling reminders to log off so work doesn’t intrude on precious family time.

Ultimately, the blog reminds us that it’s okay to let some things go—choose where your attention goes, and give yourself permission to do enough.
