You may have watched, with interest, the debate in Parliament yesterday around ‘Increasing Funding in Schools’ (watch here: https://parliamentlive.tv/Event/Index/198bdfcd-f451-4891-a8b5-c8a888c4c2a0). This debate was sparked by a petition signed by over 100,000 teachers, school leaders, educational providers/suppliers and many members of the Nexus Education community.
As the petition started by Mr Andrew Ramanandi set out, funding has become tighter and schools have had to cut back on:
• Teaching and non-teaching staff
• Support for more vulnerable pupils
• Small group work for children who are not thriving in school
• Teaching resources (parents being asked to pay for books and materials)
• Subject choices in secondary schools
• Ranges of activities for primary pupils
• Extracurricular activities that were provided for free or subsidised
• Repairs to buildings
• Renewal of equipment.
‘Fair funding’ is something that should not need to be debated – it should be a core commitment in any reasonable society. School funding should not be used as a political argument which, in turn, stifles any real change. Education is a pillar of our society that directly impacts job prospects, a prosperous economy and overall welfare.
School’s funding continues to play a prominent role in the debate over improving educational standards and this is something that Nexus Education is trying to help with and ‘do our bit’.
So far, via NeXworking sessions with schools, Nexus Education has:
– Donated over 20% of our revenue back to schools taking part in the sessions.
– Saved over 500 schools hundreds of hours by scouring the market for solutions to their needs for them.
– Saved schools £10,000’s and introduced schools to solutions pertinent to their needs. These needs can cover the whole market as Nexus Education is completely agnostic and not hamstrung by Edtech or other buzz words, fads and untested ideas.
We are proud of the work we do. We want to encourage as many people as possible to take advantage of our NeXworking donations for their local school group, cluster, MAT, TSA or trust so we can continue to invest in our schools, our classrooms and our future generations. There is no obligation to the sessions, they are free and your get £1,000 for just 90 mins of your time which could save your school thousands of pounds that could be better invested elsewhere.

There’s nothing special about the energy we sell. In fact, it’s exactly the same energy as all our competitors provide. But there is something special about the way we do it. Where others complicate the process, we simplify it. Where others confuse customers with hidden terms, we’re an open book. And where others do all they can to make as much money from their customers as possible, we do all we can to make as little. Everything we do, we do it differently. Our customers are a privilege.
