Amy started teaching in 2010 and began her role as a SENCO after completing her NQT year. Amy took on her current role at Palace Wood Primary School in 2016 and is now Assistant Head/SENCO. Amy has a passion for inclusion and was instrumental in the introduction of a specialist school satellite provision at Palace Wood Primary School, continuing to develop the links between the Five Acre Wood School team and pupils with the mainstream community. Throughout her career, Amy has sought opportunities to develop as a leader and to continue learning strategies to support pupils to progress academically, socially and emotionally. Amy also trained in clinical hypnotherapy. Amy has an incredibly supportive husband, two young sons, and a close extended family who she loves spending time with. She is currently studying for her Psychology MSc but will always find time to socialise with friends and make memories.
