Ollie Hunter has been a full-time chemistry teacher since 1993 and a Head of Department for 15 years. During that time, he has also been a Head of Year, run Gold DofE, and lead overseas mountaineering expeditions. He completed an MA(Ed) through the Open University and is now a part-time Doctoral student in the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge. Ollie’s research focus is secondary school students’ understanding of the symbolic language of chemistry and how chemical equations and formulae are used by students to generate chemical meaning.
